![]() ![]() No doubt this is something which we as Muslims have adopted from the western lifestyle. Unfortunately, having no ghirah over your women folk is something which some of brothers have blatantly fallen into. “ There are three at whom Allaah will not look at on the day of Resurrection: (1) the one who disobeys his parents, (2) the woman who imitates men, and (3) the duyooth (a man who has no protective jealousy towards his womenfolk).” However, there is one hadith on the authority of ‘Abdullaah Ibn ‘Amr, collected in Ahmad, An-Nasaa’i & Al-Haakim, which brothers should really ponder over, where the prophet (saw) mentioned: – The old man who commits zina (adultery) ![]() – The one who sells his goods by means of false oaths – The one who reminds others of his favours – The one who trails his garments out of pride To proceed Īs we know, on the day of judgement, there will be people whom Allaah Ta’ala will not look at (with His Mercy), these people include: ‘Umar Ibn Al-Khattaab (r.a) said: “ The most beloved of people to me is the one who points out (to me) my mistakes.”Īlso, ‘Umar said in a speech he gave when he assumed the position of caliph: “ Help me against (the evil of) myself by enjoining what is right and forbidding what is evil, and by offering me advice.”Īnd inshaAllaah this is just a quick word of advice to everyone. ![]() The Prophet (saw) said: “ The deen is naseeha (sincere advice).” InshaAllaah it will take no longer than 5 mins of your time… ‘Umar said, “ What made you give gifts to my womenfolk?” Then ‘Umar took it and hit him with it, and said, “ Take it, we have no need for it.” So he was brought to him and he (Abu Moosa Al-Ash’ari) said, “ Don’t be hasty, O’ Ameer Al-Mu’mineen (Leader of the believers).” ‘Umar took it and hit her with it, then he said, “ Bring Abu Moosa to me.” She said, “ Abu Moosa Al-Ash’ari gave it to me.” ‘Umar saw it with her and said, “ Where did you get this from?” His Refusal Of A Gift For His WifeĪbu Moosa Al-Ash’ari gave a mat to ‘Umar’s wife ‘Aatikah Bint Zayd, and I think that it was one cubit and a handspan. ‘Umar wept and said, “ Would I feel protective jealousy towards you, O’ Messenger of Allaah?” I said, “ Whose palace is this?” They said, “ (It is) ‘Umar’s.” Then I remembered your protective jealousy so I turned away. Whilst I was sleeping, I saw myself in Paradise, and there was a woman doing wudoo’ beside a palace. ‘Umar said, “ May my father and mother be sacrificed for you, O’ Messenger of Allaah! Would I feel jealous towards you?”Īccording to another report the Messenger of Allaah said: I said, “ Whose (palace) is this?” They said, “ (It is) ‘Umar’s.” I wanted to go in and look around, but then I remembered your protective jealousy. I said, “ Who is this?” He said, “ It is Bilal.” And I saw a palace, in the courtyard of which there was a young woman. I saw myself (in a dream) entering Paradise, and there I saw Ar-Rumaysa’ – the wife of Abu Talhah – and I heard the sound of footsteps. ‘Umar’s Protective Jealousy With His Wives ‘Umar’s Palace In Jannah ![]()
